“Ali and Nino” by Kurban Said is a highly regarded novel that has been published in 30 languages (including Braille). Rochester, New York playwright Ned Bobkoff obtained stage adapation rights with funding from the New York Foundation for the Arts. A staged reading of the play will be produced at Towson University, Baltimore, Maryland on 7pm on Tuesday, March 31st

 

“Ali and Nino” highlights the Romeo and Juliet romance between Ali Khan Shirvanshir, an intense, young Muslim patriot from Azerbaijan, and Nino Kapinini, a bright, witty Christian girl from Georgia.
