Hey Folks - I fininshed my entry last night for the Boston Public Schools Dramatic Developments Contest. At 25 pages I FEEL like I spent an hour per page, I may have - it's was 10:30 last night before I knew it.

Is there anyone else out there who has entered or won this contest? I entered last year and, judging by the guidelines for this year, I totally misunderstood and sent them a play they'd have no use for. This year, trying to write a play to illustrate the Code of Discipline, I found was harder than trying to retreive well-blocked memories of a horrifically painful Middle School career.

I'm somewhat happy with the play I came up with "Keegan and the Vegan." I would have liked to focus more on the emotional lives of the characters, instead of the steps leading to Keegan's possible expulsion...but I want the two grand, I must say...so I write what I'm asked...unless I totally misunderstood...again. he he he

Thoughts? Anyone?

Sounds like a good exercise, not only of your writing skills, but of your emotions and perhaps your memory as well as your persistence and ability to meet a deadline.  All skills necessary for a writer.

Good for you!
