The Salem Theatre Company is currently on the
lookout for original scripts for their Moments of Play: A Festival of
One-Acts, formally known as Catch'Em on the Rise. Are you a playwright
who would like an opportunity to submit a your original play or an
adaptation of an old classic? If you have been waiting for a chance
like this, now's your time to spring into action! Let STC give life to
your characters and turn your pages into a production. We would prefer
original short works and STC is open to all scripts at any stage of
development. These short plays must not be longer than 10 minutes and
must have a minimal scene set up, (cafe chairs, stools, tables etc)
and little costume change. Your work will be performed by local
actors, casting TBA at a later date by selected directors and STC.
Moments of Play: A Festival of One-Acts will be held on Sunday June 1,
2008 at the Old Town Hall in downtown Salem, MA. Please send a copy of
the most up-to-date version of your script to info@salemtheatre.com.
or mail to P.O. Box 306, Salem, MA 01970. The submission deadline is
Wednesday April 2, 2008. Also, please include a brief synopsis of your
play not exceeding one page to outline basic plot, and character
breakdown.
