I'm just throwing this out here - I start a performance workshop for (gulp) grades 4-12 on Monday, August 7. We have about 60 kids. Mostly middle school with a sprinkling of the younger and older.
If anyone has (age-appropriate for subject matter and language) 1-2 page plays out there that I could use (sorry, I cannot pay but I will give credit all over the place), I would love to give these young performers a taste of the different playwrights around ... the world?
It is for Hill-Murray School in Minnesota and is the Hill Murray Young Performer's Workshop. The school has a lovely reputation for theatre and I will see that the names of contributors goes out to every parent as well as the Hill-Murray admin and theatre people. (So, the play should have contact info). The school is a Catholic school and they are not by any means terribly conservatibve - but we shall stay with the word "appropriate." The kids are probably looking for summer fun - some are advanced - so comedies would be fun - but all forms of the art are welcome. The male-female ratio is usually 3 females for every male.
EDD: (I cannot find the original thread): AW SHUCKS was a great success last week and will use it again! Many, many thanks. If inclined, playlets can be sent to: Mattkirs@msn.com
Thanks. CLaudia
