Hello!

I am interested in writing a stage play based on an 1953 Warner Brothers Doris Day movie musical.  How would I go about getting permission to do this project?

At some point you'll likely need a good lawyer.   For a list of lawyers the business affairs department of the Dramatist Guild is a great place to start.  If you're not a member of the Guild, you really should be!   They are always really helpful, and you'll have access to a ton of great resources.   Also, while I would not entirely trust an internet site (I would suggest a lawyer to check the copyright) you might see if it's here:
