1st- One Acts Awards- (Better name Pending) August 8th, 15th, 29th- 8pm- 10pm- 2nd-
Cold Read Competition (Better Name Pending) 10pm-12- Cold read competition
ONE ACTS AWARDS Each night 12 groups will be pre-selected. Selected groups will perform one fully prepared 5- 10min play. (DIY) Audience will vote on their favorite three ensembles. Winning Ensembles will be placed together and receive an evening in the space to collaborate and create.
COLD READ COMPETITION Playwrights are encouraged to bring short plays, about 2- 10 minutes. Actors attend and receive the scripts. They have a 5 minutes to prepare.
The audiences the votes on their two favorite cold readings. Those groups are then featured the next week at the One Act Awards.
I hope this to be a cool networking event and a night where theater is a little dangerous and exciting.
The selection process will be first come first served (for now) as well as by special invite.
Note that this is an evolving process that will have long term benefits for the theatrical community. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Please forward this email to your friends. NEEDS: A lot of plays ready to be performed. A lot of scripts ready to be read. A lot of actors ready to preform.
