Hi, thought I should introduce myself.

My name is Tom Pitsis - living in Sydney, Australia with my wife and 3 year old boy, Dean.

I have written a few full-length plays, each one very different to the other. Most of them have received professional rehearsed readings/workshops - and one was short-listed for production by a major Melbourne Theatre Co: the pain after its ultimate rejection put me off writing plays, so I've done other things instead over the last few years. (Like watching TV, eating and reading.)

I'm stating the above facts because I feel that I might be able to help people with constructive criticism - and am glad to have some back.

Not entirely sure how this place works yet, but I'm hoping I can post my 1 act plays, and perhaps the 1st acts of my 2 act plays and see if anybody likes them.

I've only ever sent my plays to a few theatres in Sydney and Melbourne, and hope to get some wider exposure for them, in case somebody else might want to produce them.

Thanks for letting me introduce myself.

If anybody has tips about posting writing here, or just want to chat, please reply or contact me through this wonderful place.

Tom,

Welcome to our forum.  As you browse through it you will find everything we have to offer as well as how to post your work.

You will, however, need to re-register for membership, as the computer has entered you as a Guest and not a Member.  It may be a software glitch since it happens from time to time.

Again, welcome.

Hi Tom, I am also an Aussie.

Part of being a writer is to not take rejection personally.
(no easy task as we put our heart and soul into our work)

I am like you. I like to write, but SUBMITTING is ikky.
I dont like that part of it AT ALL.

Unfortunately for us all, it comes with the territory.

Good luck with getting back on the horse.

this site is an excellent resource and some where to keep us MOTIVATED to continue on that treterous path of putting ourselves OUT THERE.

Writting plays is not my forte. I did it for a lark mostly.
If you think that playwrights get a bashing when it comes to rejection letters, try being a POET. *wink*

cheers ohdear

Hi, thanks a lot for your welcome note.

I re-registered, and then found your note about the glitch.

I thought that I was going nuts, because I was sure that I had registered myself here. When the system didn't recognise me, I thought I must have registered at some other playwright's board.

My user name is now TomPlay.
