hi!
i'm an actor and singer.. and i am really interested in starting my own theatre/opera company one day.
right now, i'm acting in the play 'biography', its being translated from german.
i'm also in a monthly cafe put on by the theatre company Dapopo.
we 'take orders' in a restaurant setting and then come and perform right at people's tables. its A LOT of fun.
i'm interested in what people's projects and scripts are. i'm especially interested in plays that are adaptations from novels.

Hi Ann from Halifax,
If you get tired of Nova Scotia, there's a great little acting company that does the cafe/cabaret plays at Natasha's Restaurant in Lexington, Ky. They play to packed houses. I recently saw them do The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, and it was a hit.
A possible role model for you is the enrepreneur actor/diector/playwright Stephanie Richads. She is a fairly young actress who just started her own theatre company, ACT in Elkhorn City, Ky. She offers a great playwriting service for women -- a laywrights conference with 4 plays given, and others being read etc. She talked the state into financing the construction of a black box theatre out in the middle of Pike County, Ky. If she can do that, people can do anything, so don't give up your dream.
