Busyness kept me away from the forum for quite a while but wanted to revisit and become more active. I previously had another screename, but just using this one from this point forward. I saw Edd's contest for short plays and thought I'd give it a shot. The experience brought me back here and wanting to share my experiences, ask questions, and any thoughts.
I'm Michael. NYC writer/actor/admin and very very soon to be daddy.
I'm pretty new to writing plays (going on about 2 years) but had some good luck as of late. My play Burden Me will be opening this weekend in NYC. My full length Fragments was accepted as the only staged reading at Festival 56 (Illinois) this August, to which I'm super excited.
Hi Michael. I am trying to say hello to everybody introducing themselves because I was so grateful when people said hello to me. Congratulations on becoming a Daddy soon.
I am looking for something to relate to in your message, but all I canfind, other than the baby excitement, is the word fragments. Fragments is one of my favorite words, ever since I saw one of those BBC films last spring:
"You fragments." Coriolanus to the dumb street people.
But this one is even funnier. My brother goes around saying this:
"Hang'em!!!!!!!" Coriolanus.
You have to see the BBC film of this if you haven't. It is hilarious. Actually it is a very brilliant portrayal of Coriolanus.
