Hello everyone, my name is Peter, one time standup comedian, now sit down playwrite . . . playwright? I'm trying to write plays.
I've completed a 2 act comedy and a 20 minute play. I've sent them out and it would not be remiss of me to say that to get a rejection would be a step up.
I feel as if I'm working in isolation and have therefore joined this group for some feedback.
Happy hunting
Peter

Welcome to our forum, Peter.
Is Puglia's still on Mott Street? Some of my favorite places to eat were on Mott St. Last time I was there the Chinese were moving in. Do they still hold the San Gennero Festival there?
As you see I'm very inquisitive,

I've only lived on Mott Street for some 25 years so I'm not sure if Pulia's is still there. As to the Chinese, they were making in-roads towards Houstan Street when a great tidal wave of trendoids and young wealthy adorables featuring boutiques moved in and took over.
Yes the Beast of San Gennaro is still with us.
Thanks
Peter

Peter,
I was there about 6 or 7 years ago. No need to go back 25 years. I heard from some friends that a lot of the grocers and restaurants moved to upper Manhattan and created, in essence, another Little Italy.

Edd, I wasn't suggesting that you were there that long ago. I meant I'm not that observant. For instance I only recenly noticed the statue of Puck on the ledge of the Puck Building which was built around 1902. Nothing gets by me.
I posted my 20 minute play but I'm not sure I did it right. I didn't see it in the critique my play slot. Would it be okay if I tried again?

Peter,
It's in the queue. It is just that another play was posted after yours. If you click on the LEFT side where it says "critique my play" you'll see it listed there. When someone critiques it it'll come back up to the top.
Puck Building? What Puck Building? I remember when Willy was writing a play that featured a rascal named Puck. Imagine, naming a building after a character in a play. :>)

Peter, why NOT a standup playwright?
All of you big-A bums. Off the bum and on the feet. Seriously. Try writing that way, or at least, revising your play that way. . .out loud. It will help your dialogue.
