The
First Annual Foster Care Ten-Minute Play Contest
http://www.fosterkids09.com
The Foster Kids Play Fest 09 is accepting ten-minute plays. Plays are accepted in one of two categories. The first category is made up of any playwright of any background and/or from former foster children, foster parents or social worker. In the second category the play’s author MUST have been in foster care, anywhere in America, for at least two years, within the last forty years, OR have been a foster parent for not less than one year, OR have been a social worker directly involved in the placement of children into foster care.
There is no fee to enter the contest. Plays are not to exceed ten pages.
We are interested in what you have to say about foster care, not how well you write or spell. Tell us your story.
The plays should be typed or hand printed very legibly, in standard play format, using one side of each page only.
You may submit up to five plays for consideration, however only one play per author will be chosen. The plays must be original, unpublished, unproduced and ten minutes. Plays that have had staged readings are okay to submit; plays that have received productions are not.
Please make sure that your name and email address or your mailing address is on the title page of your script. Hard copy submissions only. If you wish to have your play returned to you, please include a self addressed, stamped envelope.
Plays must be submitted by Feburary 1, 2009. Playfest winners will receive a $100 prize.
All submissions will be judged by a panel of writers, actors, director and educators. Winners announced May 1, 2009. All submitters will be notified of the results.
Please include a cover page with the plays title, your name and address, and, if you have one, an email address. All submissions will be handled with care. However, the Foster Children’s Fest assumes no responsibility for lost or damaged scripts.
Play may be submitted by Email to: fosterkids09@gmail.com
Or by standard mail to:

"We're. . . not interested in how well you write or spell?" I have my doubts about a contest that explicitly states it isn't looking for what I do best.
(I've been trying to post submission opps in both the files that take them, and am told I need to login before I can. But when I'm doing that I'm already logged in, and when I log in all over again I'm still blocked. Are some members permitted to post opps and others not? There are a few exciting opps I've seen lately that I'd like to share.)

Martin,
Some of the files are locked. Those that I have posted with the long lists of opps filed in alphabetical order by deadlines are not accessable to members. Please post your opps in the "Opps for Playwrights" section. This section (The Playwrights Noticeboard) is used by Paul, Paddy and me.
Thanks,
Edd
