The Playwrights' Noticeboard
Production and Publishing Opportunities
Additions to the Noticeboard offering production and publishing opportunities to playwrights are very welcome
Please email details to Edd - edd@edwardcrosbywells.com - particularly the closing-date, any casting restrictions and your willingness (or otherwise) to accept email submissions (100-ish words max)
To save trees and money, email submission is the preferred option
This service is free to theatres and non-profit theatre organisations, but please note we won't promote productions that don't pay authors standard Royalties (about 10% gross box-office)
Or Contests that charge submission/reading fees
Authors should also note that the inclusion of an Announcement implies neither our approval nor our endorsement.

VERY IMPORTANT: BEFORE YOU SUBMIT YOUR SCRIPTS TO ANY THEATRE GO TO THEIR WEBSITE (IF IT IS NOT LISTED HERE, GOOGLE IT). LOOK TO SEE IF THEY HAVE A MISSION STATEMENT. SEE WHAT PLAYS THEY'VE DONE IN PREVIOUS SEASONS. MAKE CERTAIN THEY ACCEPT SCRIPTS DIRECTLY FROM AUTHOR'S. THOUGH MOST LISTED HERE DO, SOME MAY HAVE CHANGED THEIR MINDS AND ARE NOW ONLY ACCEPTING SCRIPTS THROUGH AGENTS ONLY.
ALSO: WHETHER SENDING BY SNAIL MAIL OR EMAIL, HAVE A WELL-THOUGHT COVER LETTER. LET THEM KNOW YOU'VE DONE YOUR RESEARCH AND GIVE THEM A BRIEF SYNOPSIS OF WHAT THEY ARE ABOUT TO READ. AND NEVER SEND MORE THAN A ONE-PAGE COVER LETTER.
