LET’S TRY A PLAY FLASH

There’s a thin line -------------------- between love and hate.

LOVE:  Sigh. Love. Love Love fucking love. Okay, so you want to write about tenderness, about the one who inspires you to greatness… yes, I know...when love speaks, the voice of all the gods makes heaven drowsy with the harmony….blah blah blah.

To write about the love in your heart, first – you must click here.

LOVE

Not until you read to the end!

HATE: “I will permit no man to narrow and degrade my soul by making me hate him” …or have you forgotten?”

“Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illumines it.”

Or is it the darkness you seek? Do you want to wring your soul out, to find the truths, buried in dried blood.

To write about hate, go here…if you dare…

HATE

Not until you read to the end!

ABOUT HONOUR – This will only work, if you pick one, and go to only that page. If you are curious about the other page, look “AFTER” you’ve finished writing.

So here is what you do.
  • Find time when you have an hour.
  • Just an hour.
  • Only one hour.
  • When you are ready to write, then look at the page you’ve chosen.
  • Let the images inspire – move – effect you.
  • Write for an hour.
  • Don’t edit.
  • Don’t fret over it.
  • Write out of your ass.
  • Then post what you’ve written under “New Topic” so each person has their own thread.
  • Put Flash in the subject line, and your name or title in the description line….something like that, so people know to read your work.
  • Read everyone else’s flash.  We all play together.
  • Comment on everyone else’s.  This isn’t a critique, but a comment.  An hour of writing is not at the place when you can get into serious analysis.  Only a comment is really necessary.
The point isn’t to have a finished play in an hour, the point is to start something, to be inspired by visual images.

Maybe next time, we can try it ‘real time’

Have fun!

~Paddy
