How about a couple of pages. An awkward situation arises between two people. One does not speak English.
Handle this any way you want, but pay particular attention to the very first line. When you write it, think - Get in late - Get out early. Don't start the play with each character entering from either side, start the play with the tug of war over the only purple hat left in the store.
When you've finished, post in the 'feedback' section in your own thread, comment on others peoples work.
