(Scene: Counselor’s Office)
Counselor: And then?
Wife: And then we fell in love and got married. It was wonderful.
Counselor: The marriage?
Wife: No. The ceremony.
Counselor: I see.
Wife: But soon after we began to fight. Milton just wouldn’t take me seriously.
Counselor: Constant fighting?
Wife: No...usually on weekends. Saturdays mostly...Sundays we were both so tired. We started throwing things at each other because Milton wouldn’t take me seriously.
Counselor: What things?
Wife: Dishes. Furniture. (beat...beat) A mirror once. I knew that would be bad luck. Oh...and one other time, he dared me to throw my dog at him.
Counselor: Your dog?
Wife: Fluffy.
Counselor: (Stifling a smile) Was your husband hurt?
Wife: Not right away. It was only later because Milton never took me seriously. That is his... (beat...beat) ...WAS his biggest problem.
Counselor: How much later?
Wife: It was after Fluffy passed away. After I brought home the St. Bernard.
(Pause)
Counselor: Are you serious?
Wife: Oh, yes. Dead serious.

Ouch, that's gotta hurt. The irony of a St Bernard killing one. That was great timmy.

I like the dialogue flow in this very much, but it feels a bit like a set-up to the punchline.
When trying to figure out what happens next, I couldn't really come up with something. I think this is fun, and interesting, maybe you could turn a corner somewhere and steer away from the punch line.

| I do have to wonder is that woman on steroids? A St Bernard's got a certain heft to it and throwing one would tax my strength especially if for any reason it didn't want to be thrown.
