I didn't know where to put this, but since we all use computers, here is a great article for all of us who are thinking of taking advantage of "bundling" our technological services from Internet/Phone companies.

Especially note where she talks about "super highway vs. side streets." This situation arose with a few friends who got taken. By they way, when they contested it, they got a full refund, but it took some time and doing. Fortunately they were business owners, so they had a little more clout than an individual. Also to "GET IT IN WRITING" with an e-mail sent to you, because you never know what the kid on the phone actually checked for your preferences! it is easier to contest if it is in writing.

So just a Public Service announcement:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/16/technology/16shortcuts.html

You could pass it on to your friends.

Just a thought, Paul, edd, paddy:

I wonder whether a "Technology" thread would be a good addition, since this is where so much of our business - as is every business -is going. I don't even know if there is room for it or not. I know some have posted things like this under "Question and Answer." I just didn't know where to put this.

We wouldn't want it to become a "promotional" thread but an informational thread, for articles related to the site and playwriting, which, in general, I think this article is. It relates to EVERYTHING!

Does anyone else think this might be a beneficial idea? I don't want the Forum to turn into a tech site, god knows. Is it needed, or is this info generally available elsewhere? I know there are several people who are well schooled in computers: Deepak and katoagogo and I believe Sam Stone, ladybug and others. Maybe they could weigh in, as they are far more advanced than I will ever be. Is there enough need for this stuff on the Site?

best,

in media res,

That's totally a Paul decision.   "The Stage" section might work well for this.

I'd be happy to add such a Section

What shall we call it?

Writing & Technology?

Technology & Writing?

Writing & The Computer?

Suggestions, please ...

I agree with carl.

Clear, concise. No stunts.

Is there room to do it?

I'm in.  Would enjoy a healthy discussion about the differences between PC and Mac.
