saw this in boston sunday night - in from england & on its way to nyc.

i laughed & laughed & laughed & was totally exhausted by the end.

it's very theatrical which is why i liked it - 4 performers playing multiple roles and just a few set pieces to suggest numerous settings.  the lead plays himself & the actress plays 3 or 4 gals but the remaining 2 actors play everyone else.  lots of hitchcock jokes & wonderful stage-craft bits.

nothing heavy, deep or real -  just a wonderful entertaining night at the theatre...

I really liked it too - I saw it at the Tricycle Theatre in Kilburn about a year and a half ago.  It is good, and I hadn't seen the movie.

"The 39 Steps" is one of my all time favorite movies.

Whenever I have gotten disillusioned about movies I rent "The 39 Steps."

I will be intrigued to see this if I get a chance. I hope they did not "camp' it up. did they?

If you see the movie, it may take awhile to get into the actng style of the time. But don't hold that against the movie. It is sheer brilliance.

Another great Hitchcock movie - there are many - is "Notorious" starring cary Grant and Igrid Bergman. Whoa!

There is an exhibit in Chicago about Hitchcock I am raring to go to. it is actually at Northwestern university's Block Museum:

If you want to read an "Irish" style Hitchcock play read "The Beauty Queen of Leenane." Thrilling and brilliant.

best,
