Just found out that my new play "Puppet Play" has just been accepted into the Last Frontier Theatre Conference in ValdezI make myself write a one act every year just to submit it to the conference, but some years I dont get in, and I would like to thank in media res and Limerick for both for being supportive and givng some good suggestions.

To check out The Last Frontier Theatre Conference:

Is anyone else going to be there?
I try to go every year wether I get a play in or not, because it is awesome!

Cheers,
Bo

Congrats! Hadn't heard of this festival, but I'll send them something next year. If a play by someone who lives far away is selected, does the festival pay travel expenses and some sort of per diem while you're there? I probably should take a closer look at the submission form to find out. Sounds like loads of fun. Like the look of your website too, and will return for more of a look soon.

To Martin H:  The festival provides transportation to and from the airport.  If you are willing to pitch a tent in the middle of class room than you can do that and stay for free on their campus.  There is a daily lunch provided (almost everyday), and a few evenings where there is food as well.  A large number of restraunts in town actually give discounts to visiting playwrights and they let you know which ones.  And finally there is a free scenic catamaran ride around Prince Willaim Sound the last day of the festivities.

Aside from that I don't know of anything else they provide to out of state playwrights, but they have a good website to peruse through.  All I know there are playwrights coming from New Zealand and the UK this summer.  Shoot Dawson Moore an e-mail, he'll tell you the down low.  His e-mail is on the website, on almost all of the pages.

To in media res:  Thanks, will do!

"Puppet Play" was read on Friday June 20th at 1130am.  There was much laughter, which is good, because its a comedy.  The three panelists (Judith Stevens-Ly, Kim Estes, and John Pielmeier) really enjoyed the piece and gave a good range of feedback that was both critical and supportive.  I'm going to let the feedback sink in and slowly over the next few weeks make a few tweaks.

Y York, who was a panelist at the festival as well, sat in on my reading and gave me some really encouraging feedback as well.

And finally of note The Last Frontier Theatre Conference this year was really really really good.  The supportive environment and the range of plays and panelists really helped a great deal of good plays start edging towards greatness.  I would reccomend the Conference to anyone!

Really happy for you that you got so much out of the reading.
Glad I could be supportive, and thanks for the acknowledgment.

That is why this site exists.

Just had someone in Trowbridge England direct "Puppet Play".  Of course I wasn't able to see it but he told me that it got some good laughs!

Congrrrrrrrratulations!

Now you can say you are an "internationally produced playwright."

Hope you get more productions of this play!
