Had to tell someone, so *tag* you're it :)
Put the final moments down today, for this new, rather hectic full length piece I've been solidly writing for the last couple of weeks.. clocks it at a hefty 120 pages.
Currently letting it 'rest' overnight, and will take a scan through tomorrow, to see what actually works, what doesn't, and what might need to be added, cut, or tweaked.
Its an eight hander, three-act saga, about a family in South Africa.
(Naturally, things go to Hell in a way that I don't think has been quite shown on stage before, definitely, at least, not in the South African context.
And got to admit, the extreme levels of cruelty, mayhem, and physical violence at key moments, hurt my mind a little).
But the main job is done, and now - like the stage managers will have to do, if the piece is ever staged - all that's left to do, is the mopping up afterwards. *shudders*
I'll put a sample up on forum, when all tweaks and edits are done..
I've baptised this piece "Die, the Beloved Country"
EDIT: The opening ten pages can be found here
