I was thinking of putting a CD together for some writer friends of some songs that I felt either were about writing, somehow reflected the struggles writers face, or were just reflective of the writing life.  Despite that I love all kinds of music, have a pretty good collection, and sometimes, on wistful days, almost wish I could play music as much as write (I can play the piano, but not so that anyone--including myself--would want to hear).  Came up with a couple titles, but I thought I'd throw this out for discussion and see if anyone else had any suggestions for songs that would go on the Ultimate Writer's Collection.

Steve

A few choices:

Elvis Costello: Everyday I Write the Book
Bruce Springsteen: Dancing in the Dark
Neil Young: Words
REM: Believe
Paul Simon: The Boxer*
Springsteen (again): No Surrender*
