Sadly though my memory of Altman was of his terrible production or Miller's Resurrection Blues at the Old Vic, London, earlier this year. It was the first time I have watched a play, prior to reviews coming out, knowing that I have just witnesses a true turkey.
Best film? Short Cuts does it for me making great source material into a great ensemble piece. That said, I've always a had a soft spot for the final catwalk scene in Pret a Porter ...
"McCabe and Mrs. Miller" was always my favorite Altman film--the whole look and feel of that piece was incredible, and just listening to the voices was like a course on writing dialogue.
