Hi all.
Just thought I'd give an update. The University of Wisconsin, brilliant and artistic folks that they are - are doing not one, but two of my plays, as a double-bill at the end of February in 2008.
('The Sugar Plum Fairy' - a play about two elevators with some serious issues, and 'Dogs of the Blue Gods' - which is about a group of police dogs).
There's a couple of sample pages of each, and much more elegant descriptions of the two plays, than what I've given here, via my site at http://www.ianfraserlive.com/Plays.html
The coolest thing to me, is that originally they were going to do just the 'Dogs' play in tandem with an Ionesco piece - and just for the heck of it, I sent them the 'Sugar Plum' play for their reading pleasure Then word came back that they'd decided to bounce the Ionesco, and do a double bill of the two pieces.
Moral of the story is, I guess, even when people have said they're gonna do a play of yours, if you have something else in a similar genre, it never hurts to casually send it to them :)
They're currently looking into possibly getting me up there (Wisconsin), so I can see the performances and do a Q&A with the students. If it happens, it'll be fascinating.
'Well the one piece emerged after me getting stoned and inspired from an old Cheech and Chong standup comedy routine, and the other came from being on acid, and watching a city skyline, and getting a cool idea for a theatre piece to try encapsulate and symbolically convey the human condition, theologically speaking, from an atheist point of view.."
A silence ripples across the auditorium... :)

Love your response, Ian...mine would be similar, although I don't listen to Cheech and Chong ;)
Congratulations! Great news. It must feel good to bounce Ionecso.
Cherish the moment...don't smoke it away ;)
