As some of you know, I'm a freshman in college (18 yrs old) and I think I mentioned that I was trying to get some of my work performed but was coming up empty handed. Well, I finagled my way into the Freshman Showcase and two of my 10 min scripts were performed.
I got 3 opportunities from that!
1) A college junior asked me to write sketch comedies
2) a high theater teacher wanted one acts and told me to name my price
3) A director of a company in another city asked for my work and wants to pay me and get publicity in the paper.
Needless to say...I'm a bit overwhelmed right now since this happened all over the course of 3 days. Well, the day after the Freshman Showcase was over, I found out this!
I entered the "Words of Choice" competition I found on here asking for works under 10 min about women's reproductive rights with a monologe about abortion and they picked it to be read this weekend in NY on 900 Broadway (that's close enough to broadway for me :-D!)
So yeah....overwhelmed but thought i'd share!
