I've come up with a wonderful idea, and you can play too. First, you have to join Face Book. http://www.facebook.com. It’s something like myspace, but more interesting, in my mind. The networking done there for theatre, is pretty great. I’ve had three theatres ask for plays, and my friend has had two productions and a movie offer from the networking there.
Once you join, hook up with me so I can send you the invitation to join the group. Add me as a friend. Type in Paddy Gillard-Bentley in the search.
There is a new application on Face book. This is a free conference calling. There are some really exciting things we can do with this, most importantly, we can connect. I would like to get a play-reading - all over the world, network going. Someone wants a play read. They choose the actors. Send the script via email. Invite friends, family, theatre directors to listen, and afterwards, nice polite feedback. It's an exciting idea, and this, I believe is how it can work.
Add the application by going here.

When I send you the invitation to join the group Stage Plays, join it, and we’ll go from there.
I have a direct contact with the people who've developed this program, and they are very interested in our feed back, and applications to the arts, specifically. Also, I have the inside scoop that you will be able to tape the conference calls within a month! That is exciting for playwrights, as well as actors.
We will still post all plays for critique here...there, is nothing like here for posting, and commenting, etc.
So for now, we'll just wait and see who we collect, and make plans from there.

Paddy,
Call me stupid, but I have a Facebook account and can't figure out how to set it up. I am totally at a loss.
On the other hand, I am on MySpace, have nearly 1,300 theatre professional members on my site and have several productions lined up and have made tremendous contacts for more. http://www.myspace.com/edwardcrosbywells
If you or anyone else knows how to instruct me to get beyond the Facebook homepage and actually see the pages of other members, please let me know how.
Oh, and please DON'T call me stupid; I'm just old and slow.
~Edd
P.S. Well, I figured it out ~ somewhat. Still . . .
