My short play, Sunday in the Park with Frank - fresh(ish) for rehearsed readings in the UK and performances at the Sydney Short and Sweet Festival and the Heartland Theatre in Bloomington (IL, US) - is to be featured at the Manhattan TheatreSource, NYC. Anglo-American company Mind the Gao are producing it as part of the Brits Bits 2 series and giving me an excuse to splash out on a long weekend in New York ...
Further details (on the production and not my weekend!) can be found at http://www.theatermania.com/content/show.cfm/section/synopsis/show/139928.

3M,
Sounds great.
Enjoy the weak dollar as much as you can in NYC! My favorite place in all the world.
There is also some good theatre going on there right now.
best,

M3,
Have fun! Break a leg! And, what with the dollar in the sewer, bring an empty suitcase and shop till you drop.

Head off tomorrow (Saturday) and arrive just in time to got to bed! Have two days of whistle-stop touring and then get an early flight back on Tuesday. Should be a blast.
And it's cold out there right now, yeah?!

matthew matthew matthew,
Congratulations on having one of your plays produced at manhattan theatre source. You are in for a treat! I was there in October for the Estrogenius festival, and it's a wonderful space run by wonderful people.
Have a great time!

| Got back last night after my two-day whistlestop tour on NYC and had a (cold) blast. Packed loads in and was also rewarded by a pretty good production of my piece with two excellent actors. But, man, it was cold ...

You should have been in Chicago. That is one cold city! Congratulations again. Too bad you couldn't stay longer in NYC. It has so much to offer. I, for one, believe it's the center of the world.

Indeed!
My piece is probably, in part, going to become a scene in a full-length piece with a different title ... I think "Sunday in the park with (add name)" works perfectly well for short piece like yours or mine but is a tad gimmicky for something much bigger.
And people might expect songs ...
