Just thought I'd drop a note to say that the reading of my play "Lost Wavelengths" at Portland Center Stage's JAW/West Festival went exceedingly well, and that I was in very good company--all the plays were provocative, very well written, and, happily, completely different from each other. It was, in short, a blast. And we sold out the whole damn festival, with a waiting list for each play. Below is a link to a mini-interview I did before the fest:
Thanks for the kind words. I think one of the best parts of the festival experience was the chance work over a short, intense period with some very, very gifted people who were all dedicated to serving the play. The down time spent just hanging out was almost as good as seeing the play up on its feet. Just a wonderful time.
I will also say, "nice interview." And makes you want to see the play with that premise. And I remain hopeful that if I ever do win the lottery (okay, first I need to invest $1 in it), I would be able to flyaround the country and see all of these plays.
I love the premise and the fact that it is a world I know nothing about.
A couple years ago, I posted the preceding info about my play "Lost Wavelengths." Well, I'm very happy to report that about a week ago, "Lost Wavelengths" won the Oregon Book Award for Drama, which is more of less like Oregon's version of the Booker Prize.
