Evidence Montage
There are three photographs, one might hide a body
They're contrasting compositions, arrange them on a table
Very likely a murder victim, that's the bottom line conclusion
From investigator's standpoint, have you ever played three card monte?
You can play it with three shells and a pea it doesn't matter
Any three objects, something concealed, move 'em around and mix 'em
You won't find it where you look for it, won't find it where you don't
You don't have to be a hound dog to sniff a whiff of homicide
What's the point of three card monte, or the shell game just the same?
If the body is concealed there, shift the photos back and forth
Back and forth across the table, switch around and make new picture
If you find it in the photograph, will it still be on the ground?
With nobody to investigate, fibres hair and DNA samples
You can make a thousand pictues of the photos on the table
Simply rearraange their order 'gainst the grain of antique wood
Metapictures start to form there, do they help in the discovery?
If there's a clue in the way we can shift 'em these images so variant
Give already! but in every possible order they're mute
A phone call at midnight should have led to the site
The kits and the swabs snap! gloves well on our way
Every possible order? there's this one and this one
It led to a room with three photos on the table
Is somebody with too little information but a sense of adventure
Hoping we'll twig to half-understood clue?
If we knew where the sites were we'd check the grounds thoroughly
There must be some way, clear solution or none
What falls into place if we shuffle them thus?
Hmm . . .
