Here is my poem, well...a poem that my friend created a while back- about 9 years!
C&C appreciated
CHOOSING CHOCOLATE CAKE Have our family values Reaped the seeds we’ve sewn? Do our children’s morals Replicate our own? Do we look to others For our family’s moral code Expecting others to teach them truth While to truth we may not hold? Do we blame schools lack of prayer For our children’s walk alone Expecting them to walk with God When we seldom pray at home? Do we think that we Can live at Satan’s door Tasting of forbidden fruit Without coming back for more? Do we think our kids Are not aware that we May live our lives immersed in self Expecting they’ll not see? How often we bemoan The choices that they make. Expecting them to choose whole wheat While we choose chocolate cake. From their birth our life’s the mold That forms this child of God They see in us what they will be Their path is one we’ve trod. If we would have them live Their life at Calvary’s tree, Then we, as well, must live in Christ A life that sets us free. These words are harsh to hear None of us is pure We walk as sinners saved by grace, Of this we can be sure. Knowing this we see No other we can blame We alone can follow God And live in Jesus name.
