So, a question, or comment rather. Let's talk again about "Waiting for Godot". Is it supposed to be comical, or is it better played somberly? Frankly, I've seen it done both ways. When it was on Broadway with Nathan Lane and Bill Irwin, they played it with lots of laughs. But in the only other version I've seen in full, part of the Beckett on Film project, it was done rather in a deadpan manner. Personally, I prefer it done un-funnily, but that's just me. I like my Theatre of the Absurd dark, nebulous, and bleak. What do you guys think? Funny or not?
