Last night, I attended a performance of "Fidler on the Roof" at A.C. Reynolds High School in Asheville, NC. I expected to see, "Just another high school play," but was rewarded with a performance that rivaled the one I saw on Broadway thirty-plus years ago.
This Drama teacher has made a career of collaborating with other educators to present some of the best High School drama you could ever hope to see. His students obviously love him, and the inclusion of the various other teachers for; set construction, scenic design and painting, costumes, music, etc; has brought about something other High Schools can only envy.
Would that we all could brag of this kind of experience from our youth.
Bravo to the school, and especially to the Drama Teacher, on the final production of his career.
