Hey all, first off all let me say hey, long time reader first time poster..:)
My name is tal, I'm 22 from Israel, I work in theater production and as a dramaturg.
I'm trying to work on my first play now, up until now I only wrote prose and the switch to plays is preety hard for me, so I'm looking for you - kind hearted, probably attractive, awesome writter to help me on my quest to achive fame and glory.
And in a serious note, writting is my life, theater is my dream, If you can help me combine them I will be forever greatfull.
I know that language would be an Issue, since I'm writting my play in hebrew, but I'm looking for someone to help me understand playwritting first.
Thank you for your time,
live long and something..
Tal.
You wrote, "...I work in theater production and as a dramaturg." and you wrote, "I'm looking for someone to help me understand playwritting first."
I, sincerely, do not understand how someone who works as a dramaturg is in need of help in understanding playwriting. It seems, at least to me, that understanding the art and craft of playwriting would, certainly should, be requisite to the dramturg.
No, it's me that wrote it wrong, since I wanted to be brief, what I do is that I work with actors before auditions and help them find specific broadway songs to match their needs, with lack of a better word for this job(and amazingly enough it keeps me very busy during the day:) ) I call it dramaturgy, altough I know it's not, and while it's something I would like to learn in the future, right now I'm new to all of it.
The best advice I can give you is to read some of the pieces that people have posted on here and reply with your own comments. Don't worry that you have little experience, any view point is appreciated. Then, once you have helped a few others with your comments, post something that you have written yourself on here. I believe that doing this will greatly improve your chances of finding someone who would like to collaborate with you.
