Rubicon Theatre, Chi, "Kassi Festival"
deadline 2/15, no fee
submissions for its 3rd annual Kassi Festival.
Each year a set of words are chosen that best described the kooky humor, infallible spirit and precious life of our friend and Rubicon co-founder Kassi Dallmann. This festival is a celebration of life in all its splendor, twists/turns and surprises. From the plays that are chosen, talented local actors and directors are brought in to produce the work, giving the playwright an opportunity to have their plays seen in the greater Chicago theatre community.
Playwrights are encouraged to use any (or all) of these words to inspire an original short play no longer than 10 to 12 pages long.
The words: gnomes, Muppets, panic attacks, renter's insurance, "Doll Man", drinking 40s, chicken dumpling soup, cross country skiing, sunburn, Circus World, Stevens Point/WI, meatloaf, ping pong table.
Submission deadline is February 15th, 2010 with a TBA performance in Spring.
