Hello, folks. My name's Roger and I have been working as a 3D modeler and animator in the entertainment industry for the past sixteen years.

Prior to that, I was a stage actor. I studied Theatre at UCLA, where I performed in productions and won several playwriting awards. I later studied Musical Theatre at San Diego State University, and lyric-writing at the BMI Lehman Engal Musical Theatre Writing Workshop. In all, I have performed in over thirty productions and musicals.

I have always aspired to write musicals when I was younger, but never felt like I had enough life experience to put into my work. Now, I am interested in collaborating with composers on individual songs and one-act musicals (to start).

I have several thought-out ideas for musicals. I also have several finished song lyrics.

I am very open to helping others with their ideas, as well.

Many Welcomes, Roger.

Here is a post from Turco that is a as good an introduction to new members as I have read. It wonderfully/succinctly sums up this site.

Snoop around and through The Forum and things should explain themselves.

Roger --

Do you ever post any animated shorts online? If you do, please post some links. I would love to see your work.

I have a background in fine and graphic art, and have been fooling around with a few modeling programs for iPad. What Mac-based, affordable software do you recommend for a beginner self-learning computer animation?

And -- keep us posted about your work.

Kato, I have some animation on my web site: http://www.eboncourt.com.

If you are a student, you can buy educational versions of 2D and 3D animation software that are a lot less expensive than professional seats cost.

If you want to do 2D animation, look at http://www.pencil-animation.org/ This is free.

FlipBook is another app, though it costs money: http://www.digicelinc.com/

There are many others. Search "2D Animation software" and you'll see them.

Roger
