 What the difference between a movie screenplay and a stage play? The script it's self.

 A screen play is quite dull to read as the story is hidden behind pages of film cuts (cut to the sun rising over a calm lake, the sound of frogs, birds, and insects can be heard), sound track info (Coldplay can be heard), and camera angle information (Close up of a Man's face, he is confused).

A stage play usually contains the when and where at the top of each new scene and gets straight to the characters acting/interacting (cough) with minimal interruption (cough) of the action to suggest direction.

Movies are written in three acts, but presented in one, and can have hundreds of locations.
Plays can have as many acts as you want, but good luck getting more than one intermission, and typically have less than a dozen locations.

Uh, is this helping or am I answering the wrong question?

 I was going to get into screenwriting but I Have decded to get into stage play. What you said helped me out. I all ways felt that stageplays would be a better way to go and that I would enjoy it better than screenwriting. Thank you for answering my question because your answer went in the direction I hopedit would be. Ill be taking a stageplay class in about 4 months. thank you.
