Originally, I hail from the area surrounding Dallas, Texas, USA, but I have recently made the move to Chicago, Illinois. I really love Chicago, and think it was a good career move.
I am in school, studying Musical Theater and Acting. I am a performer and an aspiring playwright, and I welcome all criticism with an open mind.
If you are in the Chicago area and are interested in working together or just hangin' out sometime, feel free to message me. I've only been here 2 months, so I'm still not completely used to the city.
Columbia is a very good school. In fact it is the largest film school in the country! Yep, even bigger than the vaunted NYU and USC!
I know many fine working professionals of all ages who have graduated there.
DePaul and Northwestern get all the press here in Chicago because, face it, that is where the big bucks are, but Columbia and Roosevelt University have excellent programs in the arts as well as other areas and Loyola University is coming up. And University of Illinois - Chicago is also excellent! I have seen no difference in the caliber of talent that has come out of any of the above mentioned schools. Some just cost more than others!
Believe me, in the professional world, no one gives a rat's ass where you went to school! I went to a dinky little college and it has had more professionals working per capita than almost any I know. If you want to do it, you will do it! "Prestige" school or "Sweatshirt" school means zilch. Just do well.
So, welcome to Chicago, Atomic Anne! And Chicago is a terrifc student town just as is Boston or New York City! Take advantage of all it has to offer!
